We invite you to the region of the Wetlands, to the realm of the two great rivers of the northern Podlasie region, which set the rhythm of life for the local inhabitants. To the land where the main means of river transportation is still the flat-bottom punt, called a "pychówka". To the Valley of the Biebrza and Narew rivers.

    The fortunes of these wetland valleys have been manifold: they were a defence bastion at the time when the nation fought for freedom, an experimental field for ambitious projects of communist economy, and finally the apple of the eye of naturalists, who at all costs strove for the protection of this sanctuary of abundant life. The wetlands have fed, defended and healed the spirit. Whatever purpose they have served though, they have always commanded respect. The local people know this best for they have learned to live in harmony with nature, respecting the natural right of the rivers to burst their banks.

    These "people of the wetlands" want to share with you the charm of their region. They will feed you, lodge you for the night and safely guide you through the wetland area, sharing their knowledge built on their harmonious co-existence with nature. They will make the unimaginably powerful wetlands familiar and accessible to you.
